YOUNG MASTERS ART PRIZE 2012

Innovation is hugely important but it rarely comes from nothing. The Young Masters Art Prize looks for artists who combine innovation with awareness of the Old Masters and the art of the past.

A unique not-for profit competition, open to international and UK-based artists, the prize aims to give international recognition to emerging and newly established artists.

Young Masters Art Prize 2012 will open the Call for Artists in January 2012 (closing in April 2012), to coincide with a solo exhibition of previous Young Masters winners, Ghost of a Dream, in Art Projects, London Art Fair. Using the by products generated by popular culture, this artist collaborative (Lauren Was and Adam Eckstrom) create artworks that invite the spectator to muse upon their aspirations and the lure of wealth. On Wednesday 18 January (4.30-5.30pm), there will be a talk held at London Art Fair with Adam Eckstrom and Godfrey Barker, Chair of the 2012 Art Prize. To register for the talk please apply for a complimentary ticket at: londonartfair@baydonhillfx.com
